- Timid and kind Lakota lives with his pack -- his family -- in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, U.S.A. The wolves' days are filled with games, meals, and fun. But soon, as the pack members grow older, Lakota is picked on almost every day by the other wolves. That is, until Matsi steps in. When things get tough, Matsi blocks the others' nips and tugs. With Matsi by his side as his best friend, Lakota is able to open up and develop the courage to just be himself
